Physiotherapist and Owner of Western Ontario Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation Centre
Ryan L. Thomas completed his undergraduate Honours Degree at the University of Windsor before attending the Physiotherapy program at Western University. He graduated in 1998. Since then he has completed numerous post graduate manipulation, manual therapy, clinical reasoning, vestibular rehab and exercise prescription courses.
Since 2009 Ryan has worked as a musculoskeletal lab facilitator and anatomy lab assistant at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry-Windsor Campus teaching future physicians the art of MSK assessment.
Ryan is very passionate about his profession. Ryan is a member of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association-Windsor District council. Part of his role is course coordinator and often our facility hosts continuing education courses taught by national and international teachers.
Ryan treats orthopaedic and sports related injuries from the paediatric to geriatric population. He has a keen interest in youth sports injuries especially those in soccer, gymnastics, hockey, running, cycling, swimming and dance.
Ryan is trained in the rehabilitation of concussion injuries.
When Ryan is not busy treating and managing the office he spends his time relaxing with his wife and daughter. He also dedicates his spare time to coaching competitive soccer in the Windsor TFC program and enjoys running.
Physiotherapist
Michael (Mike) Bochus completed his Bachelor of Human Kinetics (BHK), Honours Movement Science degree at the University of Windsor in 2014. He then attended McMaster University to complete his Master of Science in Physiotherapy (MSc(PT)) degree and graduated in 2017. His postgraduate education includes Soft Tissue Release Training, Level 1 Advanced Orthopeaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy, and Acupuncture and Dry Needling. Mike plans to continue taking additional physiotherapy courses focusing on manual therapy to maximize his knowledge in the field.
Mike has experience treating a variety of orthopaedic and neurological conditions in patients of all ages in clinical, rehabilitation and hospital settings. Mike strongly believes that the best patient outcomes stem from a mixture of manual therapy, exercise and patient education. When not in the clinic, Mike likes to spend his time playing sports including soccer, volleyball and hockey. You can also find him spending time with his girlfriend, or hanging out with his family and friends!
Physiotherapist
Christopher (Chris) Dion is a physiotherapist who recently graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) degree from Western University. He also completed a Bachelor of Human Kinetics with Honours in Movement Science from the University of Windsor.
Chris has extensive experience in outpatient orthopaedic clinical settings and has worked with multiple clinics in the Windsor and London area. Additionally, he has experience in the hospital setting, including Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation. Chris obtained post-graduate education in Concussion Rehabilitation and has worked with local sports teams performing on-field injury assessment and pre- and post-game treatments.
As a recent graduate, Chris is very familiar with current practice guidelines which he utilizes along with patient’s preferences to develop individualized treatment plans unique to each client. Chris enjoys learning about his clients, their goals and motivating them to become an active part in their treatment.
In his free time, Chris enjoys playing hockey, golf, training at the gym, and spending time outdoors. He plans on continuing to further his physiotherapy education by taking post-graduate courses with a focus on manual therapy and exercise therapy.
Physiotherapist
Bogdan Suciu is a physiotherapist who graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) degree from Western University. He also completed a Bachelor of Human Kinetics with Honours in Movement Science from the University of Windsor.
Bogdan has extensive experience in outpatient orthopaedic clinical settings and has completed post-graduate training in Concussion Rehabilitation. He has worked with local sports teams performing on-field injury assessment and pre- and post-game treatments. Bogdan is rostered to perform Spinal Manipulation.
Bogdan has experience treating primarily orthopaedic conditions across the lifespan in numerous clinical settings. He has a special interest in sports-related injuries, particularly in strength athletes, as well as a variety of neurological conditions in the outpatient setting. Bogdan’s focus in a physiotherapy treatment session is to create an exercise program, along with patient education and manual therapy as adjuncts to obtain successful outcomes.
Bogdan is a Windsor resident, and his personal time is spent playing sports such as soccer and golf in addition to working out in the gym. He plans on continuing to further his physiotherapy education by completing post-graduate courses with a focus on manual therapy and exercise therapy.
Occupational Therapist
Nick has a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (2010), a Bachelor’s Degree in both Health Science (2009) and Human Kinetics (2008). He is a fully registered/insured Occupational Therapist working in good-standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) since 2013. Nick is also registered with NBCOT and licensed to practice in Michigan.
Since the beginning of his career in 2011, Nick has primarily worked in hand therapy. He was trained as an entry level therapist under the physicians of Michigan Surgery Specialists. He worked at Michigan Hand & Sports Rehabilitation Center for three years, prior to transitioning to working in the Windsor area. While working in Michigan, Nick had the opportunity to view surgical procedures/diagnostic imaging, nerve testing and to work on complex multidisciplinary cases. Nick also served as the academic fieldwork coordination and was actively involved in taking students and teaching. Lastly, Nick has also attended numerous courses at the Roth McFarlane Hand & Upper Limb Centre and obtained training in advanced joint manipulations and the use of physical agent modalities.
At the Western Ontario Sports Injuries & Rehabilitation Centre Nick's main contracted role consists of the evaluation and management of hand injuries. This includes both acute and chronic conditions and custom splinting (static and dynamic). His special areas of interest include tendon and peripheral nerve injuries. For all bodily injuries, Nick also has advanced training in completing Functional Abilities Evaluations (FAE's) and industrial rehabilitation work hardening/conditioning. These services are offered at this centre. Ultimately, Nick's fundamental position as Occupational Therapist is to assist in returning those to increased level of functional performance in a client centered and evidence based approach to treatment.
Physiotherapist
Nancy Drouillard graduated from the University of Windsor in 1993 with a degree in Biology. Her passion for health care led to a Degree in Physiotherapy (1996) from the University of Western Ontario in London. She spent several years working at Windsor Regional Hospital in various outpatient programs including Neurology, Respiratory Rehabilitation and Orthopedics. In addition to her vast experience in the hospital setting, Nancy has over ten years of experience in private practice.
Nancy has taken numerous post-graduate courses in orthopedics, manual and manipulative therapy, acupuncture and programs related to Senior’s Health. She has been certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (the McKenzie Method) since 2009, to provide exceptional care for all spinal injuries. She has earned the BoneFit Certification through Osteoporosis Canada to safely assess and treat individuals with Osteoporosis and spinal fractures. Nancy is also an instructor for the GLA:D Canada Program which provides education and evidence based exercise to individuals with Osteoarthritis. She is also dedicated to improving balance for older adults to ensure their safety and independence in the community. Nancy uses an individualized treatment plan for all of her patients including custom exercises, manual therapy and acupuncture as indicated. Nancy enjoys providing her patients with the knowledge and tools they need to manage their conditions and prevent recurrence.
Nancy has been an Executive Member of the Windsor District for the Ontario Physiotherapy Association for many years as President and Secretary. She is dedicated to promoting access to physiotherapy for all Ontarians and ensuring patients receive high quality, evidence-based treatment.
In her spare time, Nancy enjoys cycling, yoga, gardening and cooking as well as travelling with her husband and two sons. She can also be found cheering on her son at triathlons across the country.
